Embracing Life with Bipolar:
My Journey of Acceptance and Renewal
I avoided all contact with the outside world, spent a whole year lying on the couch and completely isolated myself until I went on my annual vacation to visit my family in Spain. It was there that I reconnected with my passions and started the journey to my new life and acceptance of my diagnosis.
Now my life is very different. I am working on different initiatives and making plans. I am motivated, energized, enjoying the present, and looking forward to the future. I want to help others to embrace, accept and thrive in their lives, with a bipolar diagnosis.
My parents chose my name (Ignacio=Ignition) so that I would be an explosion of ideas and emotions for the world. I believe that dreams are achievable when we live up to our full potential. I want to energize you and the people around me. I have always made jokes because I like to make people laugh and see their smiles. But I am not a comedian anymore.
Now I want to know what moves you.
I have beaten my demons and I want to help you beat yours. If they come back, I am ready. Resilience is my middle name. Our middle name.
I want to raise social awareness about bipolar disorder. I want to help bipolar people who feel lost, helpless and hopeless to find hope again and achieve peak performance. I believe in second chances. I want to empower bipolar people to change the world.
I am a soccer player, an indoor rock climber and a creative writer. I enjoy writing collective books and learning from others. I am a loving father, son, brother and friend who tries his best. I am affectionate and more sensitive than I am willing to admit. I want to be a force of nature and achieve seemingly impossible goals. I aspire to inspire others to do the same.
